Red Sox Rally to Beat Rangers 6-4, Ending Losing Streak
BOSTON (AP) — The Boston Red Sox secured a much-needed victory, defeating the Texas Rangers 6-4 on Wednesday night, snapping a three-game losing streak. Alex Bregman was a standout, contributing a tiebreaking two-run single and a solo homer, while Wilyer Abreu added two solo shots, driving in a total of three runs alongside Bregman.
This win marked a turnaround for the Red Sox, who had previously struggled against the Rangers, posting a dismal 1-4 record earlier in the season. Adolis García and Josh Jung each hit a solo homer for the Rangers, who have now lost eight of their last eleven games.
Abreu’s second homer came in the eighth inning, pushing the score to 6-3. The victory was credited to Brennan Bernardino (2-1), who delivered a flawless inning of relief, while Aroldis Chapman secured his fifth save despite allowing a late homer to Jung.
The series finale is set, with the Red Sox’s Brayan Bello (2-0, 2.55 ERA) scheduled to face the Rangers’ Jack Leiter (2-1, 4.58 ERA) as both teams look to reclaim momentum.
