Tragic Loss of Carolyn Sanger: A Life of Adventure and Caregiving
Topsfield resident Carolyn Sanger, 49, tragically passed away following a fall at Purgatory Chasm State Reservation on April 23. Sanger, a devoted mother of four, was with three of her children and family members when the incident occurred. First responders received a 911 call reporting the fall, which involved a drop of 50 to 75 feet. Tragically, Sanger succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
Born on June 24, 1975, in Framingham, Sanger spent her childhood in Holliston, excelling in sports and later earning a nursing degree from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. She dedicated her career to pediatric oncology, working at renowned hospitals, including Massachusetts General Hospital. An adventurous spirit, Sanger embraced activities such as skiing, scuba diving, and marathons.
In 2005, she married Michael Sanger, a U.S. Army veteran. Together, they welcomed four children. Recently, she launched Balanced Body, a wellness business, with a grand opening slated for May 17, 2024.
Sanger is remembered for her infectious laughter and caring nature. A memorial service will be held on May 9 at Topsfield Congregational Church, followed by a gathering at Topsfield Town Hall, honoring her life and spirit.
