Massachusetts Priest Dies Following Collision While Cycling

Milton, MA – Rev. James B. Doran, a 68-year-old priest from Milton, succumbed to injuries sustained in a tragic cycling accident on Route 138. The collision occurred at noon on Wednesday when Doran, a member of the Oblates of the Virgin Mary at the St. Joseph Retreat House, was struck by an SUV.

Medical personnel pronounced him dead at a Boston trauma center on Friday night, according to Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey. The incident took place near the Blue Hills Trailside Museum while Doran was cycling in the area.

The driver of the SUV, identified as an 85-year-old man from Hyde Park, was unharmed in the accident. Authorities have not released his name.

Investigators are currently probing the circumstances surrounding the crash. Community members have expressed their sorrow over the loss of the beloved priest, who had dedicated his life to serving others.
