Michael Jordan Returns to NBC as Special Contributor for NBA Coverage
In a highly anticipated announcement, Michael Jordan is set to join NBC Sports as a special contributor for the NBA beginning in the 2025-26 season. This marks Jordan’s return to NBC, where he achieved legendary status during his six championship wins with the Chicago Bulls. The announcement was made during NBCUniversal’s Upfront presentation at Radio City Music Hall in New York, igniting excitement among basketball fans.
“I am thrilled to see the NBA back on NBC,” said Jordan. “The NBA on NBC was a meaningful part of my career, and I’m looking forward to contributing to the project.”
NBC’s president of sports, Rick Cordella, concurred, stating, “Michael’s legacy both on and off the court speaks for itself.” The network has secured an 11-year rights deal with the NBA, marking its return to basketball broadcasting after 2002. The deal will feature exclusive Monday night games, Tuesday regional doubleheaders, and “Sunday Night Basketball.”
