Public Meeting Scheduled to Discuss $26 Million Intersection Redesign
SPRINGFIELD — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation will host a public information meeting to discuss the redesign and construction schedule of the complex intersection of Belmont and Sumner Avenues and Dickinson Street, commonly referred to as “the X.” The meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Forest Park Middle School Auditorium located on Oakland Street.
This $26 million state-funded project aims to enhance safety and reduce congestion in this busy area. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, provide feedback, and learn more about the ongoing construction, which began in March.
For those unable to attend, the meeting will be recorded and made available for later viewing. Residents interested in keeping up-to-date with project developments can sign up for alerts and additional information at the Massachusetts government website: https://www.mass.gov/the-x-springfield.
This initiative represents a significant investment in local infrastructure, aiming to improve traffic flow and safety for all roadway users.
