Chris Sale Fans 8 as Braves Triumph 4-2 Against Red Sox

Chris Sale Shines in Braves’ Win Over Red Sox

BOSTON (AP) — Chris Sale delivered a stellar performance on Friday night, striking out eight and allowing just one run over seven innings, leading the Atlanta Braves to a 4-2 victory against the Boston Red Sox. This marked Sale’s first win since April 25, improving his record to 2-3 on the season.

Sale, who previously played six seasons with Boston and was pivotal in their 2018 World Series win, showcased his skills by lowering his ERA to 3.62. In the second inning, Matt Olson and Sean Murphy delivered consecutive home runs, contributing to a crucial early lead. The Braves also added two runs in the ninth, aided by back-to-back walks from Red Sox reliever Brennan Bernardino.

Red Sox starter Garrett Crochet performed admirably, striking out eight while conceding only the two homers, but it wasn’t enough. Jarren Duran led Boston offensively with two hits, while Rob Refsnyder hit a solo homer in the seventh inning. The Braves improved their record to 23-22, successfully bouncing back after a challenging start to the season. The teams will face off again in the middle game of the series on Saturday.
