Trump Calls for Investigation into Celebrities Supporting Kamala Harris
In a series of late-night social media posts, former President Donald Trump launched a fierce attack on celebrities endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris, claiming they contributed illegally to her 2024 campaign. He singled out stars such as Bruce Springsteen, Oprah Winfrey, and Beyoncé, alleging that their endorsements constituted improper financial contributions. "Candidates aren’t allowed to pay for endorsements," Trump declared, asserting that Harris’s actions were dubious.
Despite the claims, Harris’s campaign maintains that she did not pay for endorsements. Financial records indicate that Winfrey’s Harpo Productions was compensated $1 million for an event, while Beyoncé’s company received $165,000. Both have denied being paid for their endorsements, with Winfrey stating that payments were for production work, not endorsements. Trump dismissed these explanations, arguing that such practices are corrupt.
His statements follow Springsteen’s critical remarks about Trump’s administration during a tour, where he described the U.S. as being under a "corrupt" regime. Trump countered by labeling Springsteen as "Highly Overrated". The former president concluded by demanding accountability from the celebrities involved, reiterating that he believes the endorsements are a form of "illegal election scam."
