Bruins Players Seek Redemption After Disappointing Season

As the Boston Bruins regroup for the 2025-26 NHL season, players like Jeremy Swayman, Elias Lindholm, and David Pastrnak are currently representing their nations at the IIHF World Championships in Sweden and Denmark. Despite their focus on international play, the players expressed a collective disappointment over last season’s performance, where the Bruins failed to qualify for the playoffs for the first time since 2016.

Swayman, coming off a challenging season with a .892 save percentage, emphasized the team’s desire to bounce back, stating, “Our standard is much higher than what we had this year. We’re excited to come back with a vengeance.”

The Bruins experienced significant adversity, including injuries to key players and the mid-season firing of head coach Jim Montgomery. Lindholm acknowledged the numerous challenges faced, adding, “Not the season anyone wanted, but hopefully next year everyone’s healthy and ready to go.”

Looking to the future, the team has nearly $30 million in cap space and options to revamp the roster, with Pastrnak expressing confidence in management. “We are going to be much better,” he affirmed. The Bruins are poised to climb back into playoff contention as they aim for a fresh start.
