Belchertown Softball Overcomes SICS in High-Scoring Showdown
BELCHERTOWN, MA – In a thrilling matchup on Tuesday, Belchertown High School’s softball team edged out Springfield International Charter School (SICS) with a final score of 21-19 in a game marked by a staggering 37 total hits.
The contest started poorly for the Orioles, who found themselves trailing 14-5 entering the fourth inning. However, Belchertown mounted a remarkable comeback, scoring 11 runs during that critical inning and taking the lead for good.
Key performances came from players Emily Waller, Sophia Mitus, and Vivian Ross, each contributing four hits to the team’s victory. Mitus also led the team with four RBIs. For SICS, standout Seraiahh Morgan shone offensively, going 5-for-6 and driving in four runs.
With this victory, Belchertown improved its record to 13-3 for the season, while SICS dropped to 8-10. The high-scoring encounter showcased the offensive prowess of both teams, setting the stage for an exciting finish to the season.
Other notable games included Framingham High School defeating Natick High School 7-5, and Ware Jr./Sr. High School overwhelming Quaboag Regional High School 18-3.
