Bridgewater State University Students Face Disciplinary Actions for Racist Slur
Bridgewater, MA – Two students at Bridgewater State University are under investigation after a video surfaced showing them using a racist slur. The incident has sparked outrage on social media, prompting university officials to take immediate action.
In the video, which initially appeared on TikTok before being reposted by the university’s Black Student Union (BSU) on Instagram, the students respond to a prompt by saying the n-word. University officials expressed their disappointment, stating, “Bridgewater State University was sickened to learn that two of our students used deplorable hateful speech.” The university is actively pursuing disciplinary measures against them.
The BSU condemned the use of such language, emphasizing the need for unity within the Black community to combat racism. They urged university President Fred Clark to address the incident publicly, asserting the importance of representation and solidarity.
The university reiterated its commitment to eradicating racism and fostering an inclusive campus. “BSU remains resolved to eliminating all forms of racism, discrimination, bias, xenophobia, and misogyny,” officials stated. The situation highlights the ongoing need for dialogue and action against hate speech in educational environments.
