Community Mourns After Tragic Loss of Cape Cod High School Senior
Ava Lodico, an 18-year-old high school senior from Falmouth, Cape Cod, tragically lost her life in a single-car crash following her prom night on May 17. The accident, which occurred around 11 p.m. on Acapesket Road, took place just 10 minutes after the “Garden of Lights” themed prom concluded at 10 p.m.
In remembrance of Lodico, a GoFundMe campaign has been launched to support her family, aiming to raise $35,000 for expenses. As of Thursday morning, the fundraiser has accrued over $25,000, reflecting the deep affection for Lodico as a cherished friend, sister, cousin, and daughter.
Family and friends are devastated by her sudden passing, recalling her vibrant spirit and warmth. Erin Barr, a close friend, expressed the surreal nature of losing someone they had just shared joyful moments with. Services for Lodico are scheduled for May 27 and 28, including visitations at Chapman Funerals & Cremations and a funeral service at Cape Cod Church.
Her friends, still grappling with the shocking news, highlighted their plans together and the gaping void her loss has created in their lives. Ava Lodico will be remembered as a loving soul who touched many lives in her community.
