Tufts Women’s Lacrosse Team Advances to NCAA Final Four
Salem, VA – May 22, 2025 – The Tufts University women’s lacrosse team secured its spot in the NCAA Division 3 Final Four after a thrilling 8-7 victory over Salisbury University last Sunday at Bello Field in Medford. This win propels the Jumbos into the championship weekend, where they will compete for the national title alongside other top teams.
Representing New England, Tufts is joined by Middlebury (VT) and Colby (ME) in the Final Four, showcasing the region’s strength in women’s lacrosse with a combined total of just five losses this season. Tufts (20-1) will face Gettysburg (PA) in the semifinals, while three-time defending champions Middlebury will play Colby. The games take place on Friday, with streaming available on NCAA.com.
Key to Tufts’ success has been junior Allie Zorn, who leads the team with 82 points this season, including 59 goals. Zorn, a former Globe All-Scholastic, has played a crucial role as the Jumbos have dominated their initial tournament matches by wide margins before the tense win over Salisbury.
On the other side of the bracket, Middlebury boasts a formidable lineup, including Hope Shue—an all-time leading scorer who recently broke the program’s scoring record. She has been a standout player, earning accolades such as the IWCLA National Player of the Year.
As the Jumbos prepare for their title chase, excitement builds for the upcoming championship game scheduled for Sunday at noon. This weekend’s events at Gillette Stadium will also host the Final Four games for Division 3 men’s lacrosse, where Tufts will seek to defend its national title.
