MS-13 Gang Leader in Massachusetts Confesses to Unsolved Murder

MS-13 Gang Leader Admits to 2010 Murder in Chelsea

A local leader of the MS-13 gang, Jose Vasquez, also known as “Little Crazy,” has confessed to a 2010 murder that remained unsolved until recently. The 31-year-old is currently serving a 17-year federal sentence for conspiracy to conduct racketeering activities. Following his guilty plea, Vasquez could face additional decades behind bars for the fatal stabbing of a rival gang member in Chelsea.

On December 18, 2010, police discovered the victim, 28, with multiple stab wounds. A reinvestigation revealed Vasquez’s involvement, stemming from a conspiracy by MS-13 members to eliminate the victim, whom they suspected of being part of a rival gang. On the day of the murder, Vasquez and associates lured the victim to a secluded area, where he was violently attacked.

Evidence from the scene included Vasquez’s palm print on a knife used in the murder, alongside recordings of MS-13 meetings discussing the crime. This case highlights the ongoing influence of MS-13, a transnational criminal organization notorious for its violent crime. Federal sentencing for Vasquez is set for June 30.
