Community Mourns the Loss of Promising Young Life

Falmouth, MA – The community is grieving the tragic passing of Ava Marie LoDico, an 18-year-old Falmouth High School senior, who died on May 17, 2025. Ava, born on April 12, 2007, was set to pursue a nursing degree at UMass Dartmouth this fall. Known for her vibrant spirit, Ava filled her life with beach outings, sunset gatherings, dancing, and concert experiences with friends.

Her generosity and compassion were evident in her volunteering efforts for the Falmouth Road Race and the Ryan Hendricks I Got You Foundation. Ava’s infectious laughter and keen wit endeared her to many, lighting up every room she entered.

She is survived by her parents, Joseph LoDico and Brandi Santos, her brother Jayce Staten, and a loving extended family in Falmouth. Visitation services will occur on May 27 from 3-7 p.m. at Chapman Funerals & Cremations, followed by a funeral service on May 28 at 1 p.m. at Cape Cod Church, with burial at St. Anthony’s Cemetery.

The community remembers Ava as a shining star taken too soon, leaving behind memories that will forever be cherished.
