President Donald Trump received an extravagant welcome upon his arrival in Doha, Qatar, marked by fighter jets, Cybertrucks, and dancers. Concurrently, a new nonprofit, the Donald J. Trump Presidential Library Foundation, Inc., has been established, led by his son Eric Trump and son-in-law Michael Boulos, to fund and support a future presidential library dedicated to preserving Trump’s legacy.
The foundation’s launch follows $37 million settlements from Meta and ABC, contributing to the financial groundwork for the library, alongside a luxury Boeing 747 jet valued at $400 million, which will serve as Air Force One during Trump’s presidency and later transfer to the library. This nonprofit aims to steward the historical record of Trump’s presidency, engaging in activities such as maintaining archives, libraries, museums, and conducting outreach programs.
Initial trustees include Eric Trump, Boulos, and attorney James Kiley, with the foundation anticipated to comprise between three to 21 trustees in total. The registered address for the foundation is the Trump National Jupiter Golf Club in Florida, mirroring a previously established nonprofit with a similar name.
Unlike prior presidents, Trump did not create a physical library during his first term. However, he now has committed funds and a private jet ready for his planned library. The U.S. Presidential Library System, maintained by the National Archives, consists of 16 libraries documenting various presidencies, funded primarily through private donations. Trump’s future library projects are already backed by substantial financial resources, showcasing ongoing efforts to cement his presidential legacy.
