Boston Area Weather Forecast: Memorial Day and Beyond
As Memorial Day approaches, the Boston area is bracing for a cool yet mostly clear start to the week, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). Meteorologist Andrew Loconto predicts a shift from the recent cloudy weather to a mix of sun and clouds on Monday, with temperatures expected to peak at 67 degrees. While the day remains cooler than average, it presents a marked improvement from the chilly conditions seen last week.
Going into Tuesday and Wednesday, residents can look forward to sunnier skies and temperatures in the mid-70s, marking a return to more typical late May weather. However, Loconto warns that Thursday through the weekend may bring unsettled conditions, with increased chances of rain, particularly on Thursday and Saturday.
Thursday is forecasted to be mostly cloudy with highs in the low 70s, while the latter part of the week could see periods of showers and thunderstorms. Despite these fluctuations, temperatures are expected to remain above normal, gradually cooling off as June approaches. As May wraps up, the area can anticipate a return to more seasonal weather patterns.
