Phil Robertson of ‘Duck Dynasty’ Passes Away at 79
The Duck Dynasty family is grieving the loss of Phil Robertson, who passed away on May 25 at the age of 79. His family announced the news, expressing gratitude for his life and the impact he had on many. Phil’s daughter-in-law, Korie Robertson, shared a heartfelt message on Facebook, celebrating his faith and influence. “We celebrate today that our father, husband, and grandfather, Phil Robertson, is now with the Lord,” she wrote, thanking fans for their love and support.
In her tribute, Korie mentioned that the family would hold a private service with plans for a public celebration of Phil’s life to follow. Granddaughter Sadie Robertson also honored his memory through social media, recalling one of their final exchanges: “One of the last things he said to me was ‘full strength ahead!’ Amen!”
Phil had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, a fact revealed by his son Jase Robertson in December. The family noted that his health had been declining due to additional complications from a blood disease. Jase opened up about Phil’s struggles on the Unashamed with the Robertson Family podcast, stating, "Not good," when asked about his father’s health.
Having starred in A&E’s Duck Dynasty from 2012 to 2017, Phil was well-known for his faith-based values and contributions to the Duck Commander brand. As the family navigates their loss, they remain committed to continuing Phil’s legacy of love and faith. While they work through the grieving process, fans and followers are encouraged to share their memories of Phil, celebrating a life devoted to guiding others on their spiritual journeys.
