Patriots Continue Efforts to Sign Last Three Draft Picks

Press Article: Patriots Prepare for Rookie Signings as OTAs Continue

In a significant development for the New England Patriots, first-round pick Mason Graham, selected 5th overall, has officially signed his contract, paving the way for the team to finalize deals for remaining unsigned rookies. Among them, left tackle Will Campbell, a highly anticipated draft pick, is expected to secure his agreement soon. Alongside Campbell, second-round selection TreVeyon Henderson and fourth-round pick Craig Woodson remain without contracts but have actively participated in OTA sessions.

While recent contract negotiations across the league have often been merely procedural due to the rookie wage scale, some situations, like that of Cincinnati Bengals’ first-rounder Shemar Stewart, highlight potential complications. Stewart is currently missing OTAs due to disputes over contract language, a rarity in today’s NFL landscape.

Reports indicate that Graham’s deal is valued at over $40.8 million for four years, while Campbell is projected to sign for around $43 million. Veteran tackle Morgan Moses expressed admiration for Campbell’s proactive approach to learning, stating, “He’s eager to learn… obviously, he’s a stud.” The Patriots will hold another OTA session this Tuesday, with a media-access session scheduled for Wednesday.
