Patriots’ Jabrill Peppers Seeks Fresh Start in 2025 After Tumultuous Year
Foxborough, MA — As the New England Patriots embark on their Organized Team Activities (OTAs), safety Jabrill Peppers is embracing the opportunity for renewal in the 2025 season. Last year was marked by significant challenges, including a disappointing 4-13 record and a court case concerning serious allegations, from which he was acquitted in January.
Peppers, who spent seven games on the Commissioner’s exempt list due to the incident, expressed relief at moving forward. “I’m just happy it’s over with, and I get to get back to doing what I love to do. It was a learning experience,” he said after an OTA session at Gillette Stadium.
Having played eight seasons in the NFL, Peppers is eager for a turnaround after consistently ending seasons with sub-.500 records across three teams. With a revamped roster following New England’s busy offseason—marked by the hiring of coach Mike Vrabel and the addition of key players like Milton Williams and Carlton Davis—Peppers sees 2025 as a pivotal year.
“I think every year in the league is a fresh start,” he noted, focusing on the chance to prove himself regardless of past performances. As one of the few veterans remaining on the Patriots’ defense, Peppers remains committed to setting a high standard for the team.
“I just try to be the same guy every day. I love this game, it’s a big passion for me,” he stated, emphasizing the importance of leadership for the younger players on the team. With expectations for improvement, Peppers awaits the upcoming season with hope and determination.
