In Boulder, Colorado, a targeted attack on the Jewish community occurred during a march advocating for the release of Israeli hostages in Gaza. A man identified as 45-year-old Mohamed Sabry Soliman was apprehended for throwing Molotov cocktails at attendees, resulting in injuries to six individuals aged 67 to 88. Videos from the scene depict a shirtless Soliman, holding glass containers of flammable liquid, pacing and shouting provocative statements, including “How many children have you killed?” and “We need to end Zionists.”
The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) labeled the incident as a “targeted terrorist attack,” correlating it with a rising trend of violence against Jews in the U.S. Recent weeks have seen another attack involving a couple murdered in Washington, D.C., alongside this event.
Eyewitness Aaron Brooks described the chaotic scene, witnessing smoke and injured individuals, and expressed emotional distress over the violence he encountered. Police arrived quickly, with video showing an officer approaching Soliman with a drawn weapon, ultimately handcuffing him as bystanders pleaded for safety.
ADL National Director Jonathan Greenblatt condemned the incident, linking it to a disturbing pattern of anti-Semitism manifesting globally. He referenced several attacks, including assaults on Jewish youth in London and vandalism of Jewish sites in Paris. Greenblatt characterized this increase in violence as part of a broad “global campaign of intimidation” against Jewish communities, emphasizing that such acts stem from anti-Jewish rhetoric. The FBI is continuing its investigation into this alarming incident.
