Stunning New Rooftop Bar in Boston Features Breathtaking Views and Refreshing Drinks

Boston Welcomes Essex Rooftop, a New Summer Hotspot

Boston’s dining scene just got a significant boost with the opening of Essex Rooftop, one of the city’s largest rooftop bars, on May 22. Located atop the Cambria Downtown Boston Hotel in South Boston, the rooftop bar complements its downstairs counterpart, The Essex, which debuted in March.

Kristin Jenkins, the esteemed restaurateur behind the celebrated 1928 Beacon Hill, leads this new venture. She expressed her excitement about the dual opening, stating, “We’ve created two distinct experiences that honor Boston’s culinary culture while introducing fresh, West Coast-inspired flavors.”

Essex Rooftop features an enticing menu of over a dozen small plates, including beef carpaccio, mezze boards, salmon crudo, and lobster rolls. Alongside the food, patrons can enjoy a diverse selection of cocktails, such as The Side Door and The Essex Rooftop Martini, as well as a variety of wines and beers.

For those seeking a heartier meal, The Essex offers substantial dinner entrees, including Cavatelli pasta and Jidori chicken. The Essex operates daily for breakfast and dinner, while Essex Rooftop welcomes guests from 4 p.m. to midnight on weekdays and noon to midnight on weekends, promising a vibrant summer destination in the heart of Boston.
