Maurizio revealed that Flair is facing a challenging fight against the diagnosis, describing the emotional toll of biopsies and continuous tests. This marks Flair’s second encounter with skin cancer in three years, a battle that comes after his previous health challenges, including a traumatic coma.
“Ric treasures his career-long friendship with Jim Ross, who recently disclosed his own cancer diagnosis and upcoming surgery for colon cancer,” Maurizio added. He emphasized the emotional strain that such news brings to those connected to wrestlers like Flair and Ross, urging fans to show solidarity. “In these trying times, let’s rally around our friends and heroes,” he pleaded, encouraging compassion and support within the community.
Flair confirmed in an interview with People that he is scheduled for treatment next week. He reflected on his turbulent health journey, noting that years of alcohol abuse led to serious issues like kidney failure and congestive heart failure.
Despite his numerous setbacks, Flair remains a resilient figure in the wrestling world, famously known as “The Nature Boy.” He is celebrated as one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, with accolades including two inductions into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2008 and 2012.
