Meghan Turner Takes the Helm of PWHL Seattle as General Manager

In an exciting turn for women’s hockey, Meghan Turner has been appointed the inaugural General Manager of PWHL Seattle. Turner, who initially served as the Assistant GM for the Boston Fleet, has made waves in the league thanks to her strong foundation in both hockey and leadership.
The opportunity arose after her friend and GM of the Boston Fleet, Danielle Marmer, recognized Turner’s potential and championed her as the ideal candidate during the league’s expansion. “She’s incredibly bright, organized, and culture-driven,” Marmer stated, expressing her confidence in Turner’s ability to create a remarkable team culture in Seattle.
Turner’s journey to this position is a compelling story of transition and ambition. A talented hockey player who dominated at every level, Turner initially pursued a career in consulting after graduating from Quinnipiac University. Despite success with the CWHL’s Worcester Blades and the PWHPA, she made the tough decision to retire in 2022 to focus on her professional career and family life.
However, an unexpected letter from Marmer during Turner’s military training reignited her passion for hockey, prompting her to join PWHL Boston. After two seasons, the league’s expansion provided the perfect platform for Turner to step into a leadership role.
Turner’s unique combination of sports acumen and managerial experience positions her well for success in the PWHL. As she embarks on this new chapter, fans and players alike eagerly anticipate the impact she will have on the Seattle team and the wider landscape of women’s hockey.
