NEW YORK (AP) — The Boston Red Sox showcased their offensive strength on Sunday night, defeating the New York Yankees 11-7 at Yankee Stadium. This victory marked Boston’s second win in a three-game series against their longtime rivals, with the team matching a season high by hitting five home runs.
Catcher Carlos Narváez, facing his former club, delivered a pivotal moment in the sixth inning with a three-run homer that put the Red Sox ahead 5-3. Narváez, who joined the Red Sox following a trade from the Yankees, has been a valuable asset since his promotion last year.
Rafael Devers also contributed with a home run, while rookie Kristian Campbell added a two-run shot, and Abraham Toro and Trevor Story followed suit in the eighth with back-to-back solo blasts.
Despite the loss, Yankees star Aaron Judge made headlines by hitting two two-run homers, bringing his season total to four multihomer games. The victory highlights the Red Sox’s promising momentum as they continue their season in strong form.
