Boston Braces for Over 1 Million Attendees at Annual LGBTQ+ Pride Parade
This Saturday, Boston will welcome more than 1 million participants to its annual LGBTQ+ Pride celebration, themed “Here to Stay.” This theme embodies a message of resilience and defiance against growing hostility, as articulated by Boston Pride for the People President Adrianna Boulin: “We’re here to stay… We won’t be bullied or erased.”
The event, organized by Boston Pride for the People, marks a significant revival since the previous organization’s disbandment in 2021. The festivities kick off with a parade at 11 a.m., commencing from Boylston Street and culminating at Boston Common, followed by a festival running until 6 p.m. Highlights include performances from New Orleans artist Big Freedia and local acts such as RLETTO and Booty Vortex.
A 21+ block party at City Hall Plaza will feature a variety of local performers and DJ sets, with offerings from several New England breweries. Attendees are encouraged to use public transportation to avoid road closures and limited parking. Amidst the celebrations, a "No Kings" protest will take place, encouraging participants to exhibit their dissent through meaningful slogans during the parade.
