His priority list for the 2025-26 season includes enhancing the Bruins’ defensive structure, securing offensive production, rejuvenating the power play, and fostering the growth of younger players.
The Bruins struggled defensively last season, ranking in the bottom tier of the league in goals allowed. Sturm aims to revamp their defensive strategy—drawing from his past experiences to establish a competitive identity. He also sees the need to unlock more scoring, emphasizing shot generation from the defense and improving puck entry strategies. Furthermore, with the power play languishing near the bottom, he plans to fill an assistant coach vacancy focused on revitalizing this crucial area.
