Israel-Iran Conflict Live: Southern Israel Hospital ‘Severely Damaged’ by Iranian Missile Strike

Press Release: Soroka Hospital in Southern Israel Struck by Iranian Missile

Beersheba, Israel – Soroka Hospital, a major medical facility serving southern Israel, was hit by a ballistic missile in a series of Iranian retaliatory airstrikes, confirmed Israeli officials on Thursday. Eyewitness accounts depicted chaos, with patients and medical staff fleeing through debris-filled corridors.

The hospital, equipped with over 1,000 beds, is centrally located in Beersheba, providing critical services to approximately 1 million residents. Initial reports indicated that several areas of the hospital sustained significant damage, and the emergency room is currently treating minor injuries. Local emergency services reported at least 47 people injured due to the missile strikes, with three in serious condition.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned the attack, labeling Iran as "terrorist tyrants" and stated that the nation will be held accountable for their actions. Defense Minister Israel Katz echoed these sentiments, asserting that Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, would also bear responsibility and ordered intensified military action against Iranian targets.

While tensions escalate in the region, Iraq’s prominent Shia cleric, Grand Ayatollah Ali Sistani, cautioned against targeting Iranian leadership, warning that such actions could lead to regional chaos. He emphasized the need for diplomatic efforts to resolve the ongoing conflict surrounding Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

In a related development, U.S. President Donald Trump hinted at possible military interventions against Iran, contingent upon the effectiveness of specific military strategies, despite concerns over escalating tensions. Meanwhile, European leaders highlighted the U.S.’s unique position to facilitate negotiations between Iran and Israel.

As regional fears of a widespread conflict mount, international voices call for restraint and a diplomatic resolution to prevent further escalation in hostilities.
