OUTLOUD Music Festival Debuts in Boston, Celebrating LGBTQ+ Voices
BOSTON – The OUTLOUD Music Festival made a significant debut in Boston on June 21, marking its inaugural event at The Stage at Suffolk Downs. For many attendees, like Boston resident Blaise Guerriero, it was their first-ever music festival experience, celebrating not just music but also Pride and community acceptance.
Guerriero shared, “I felt this would be a very good introduction to a music festival because I have a whole bunch of friends that are here,” emphasizing the festival’s inclusive atmosphere. The lineup featured a host of vibrant queer artists, including Kim Petras, Trixie Mattel, Flo Milli, Rebecca Black, G Flip, and Frankie Grande, captivating attendees with their performances.
Nia Hernandez from Plymouth expressed the festival’s importance for those in more conservative settings, stating, “I just wanted to come and have a good time, express ourselves freely, and be around like-minded people.”
Founded in 2020, OUTLOUD is the leading LGBTQ+ music brand, known for crafting experiences that amplify queer artistry through live performances and entertainment. The Boston festival coincided with the city’s recent designation as a sanctuary for the transgender community, making this celebration particularly poignant amidst today’s socio-political climate.
Jeff Consoletti, Founder and Executive Producer of OUTLOUD, reflected on the festival’s significance, stating, “In today’s political climate, it’s more important than ever to uplift queer voices.” His connection to Boston made the festival a personal milestone, encapsulating a full-circle moment for Consoletti and the LGBTQ+ community.
With OUTLOUD, Boston joins a larger narrative that celebrates diversity, inclusion, and the power of music to unite communities. The festival is expected to become a cherished annual event for those looking to celebrate Pride and queer artistry in the heart of the city.
