Iranian Missile Launched Post-U.S. Strikes Inflicts Significant Damage but Results in Few Injuries in Tel Aviv – Boston Herald

Iranian Missile Barrage Hits Israel Following U.S. Strikes

In a dramatic escalation of conflict, Iran launched over 40 missiles toward Israel on Sunday, injuring 23 people and causing significant destruction in three urban areas, mere hours after the U.S. targeted Iranian nuclear sites. The missiles struck multiple locations, including Tel Aviv, where a high-rise residential building suffered catastrophic damage but fortunately, casualties were minimized due to timely evacuations and sheltering.

Deputy Mayor Haim Goren described it as “miraculous” that more residents were not hurt, noting the efforts of families and health aides in assisting vulnerable individuals, including those in nursing homes. “It’s like a typhoon came through my apartment,” recounted resident Ofer Berger, reflecting the widespread devastation.

Emergency services reported that over 9,000 residents have been displaced since the outbreak of hostilities, with missiles damaging around 240 buildings. Despite the chaos, a sense of community emerged, with volunteers aiding affected families.

Mira Goshen, a resident whose home was destroyed, lamented the situation, expressing a desire for peace while remaining focused on her immediate needs rather than broader political concerns. As local officials worked to clear debris and provide support, the emotional toll on residents remained palpable amidst the unrest.
