Boston Fleet Invests in Future with PWHL Draft Selections
In an offseason marked by significant losses, the Boston Fleet is looking to rebuild with a promising 2025 PWHL Draft. The Fleet navigated the draft with six selections, highlighted by the second overall pick, where they opted for standout defender Haley Winn from Clarkson University. Winn, a top-10 finalist for the Patty Kazmaier Award, is celebrated for her offensive prowess and solid defensive skills.
With a record of 46 points, including 14 goals, Winn is expected to anchor the Fleet’s defense alongside Megan Keller. Boston further secured promising talent by selecting Ella Huber, a skilled two-way forward, and Olivia Mobley, a versatile winger with experience in both Quinnipiac and Ohio State.
Additionally, Riley Brengman, Abby Newhook, and goalie Amanda Thiele round out the Fleet’s draft, each bringing unique strengths to the roster. Newhook, a Boston College alum, offers leadership and a strong two-way game, while Thiele seeks to solidify the backup goalie position.
General Manager Danielle Marmer aims to revitalize the Fleet after losing franchise players to Seattle, and this draft strategy positions Boston for a bright future in the league.
