Michael Brown, a 37-year-old man from North Carolina, faces multiple charges following an unauthorized party he organized at a home in Weddington, around 23 miles from Charlotte, while the homeowners were on vacation. The incident took place on June 21, and Brown allegedly invited several hundred guests, charging them an entry fee.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene after community complaints about increased traffic and noise were reported. A neighbor, Wendy Squires, voiced concerns over the unexpected crowd, stating, “I was like, that’s not a venue, how are they managing this.”
Upon arrival, deputies discovered significant damage to the property. Initially, Brown claimed he was the homeowner but soon provided several false accounts regarding his relationship to the house, eventually admitting he was merely the former landscaper with no ties to the owners.
