Title: Resilient Cat Mazy Seeks Loving Home After Abuse Recovery
BOSTON, MA – Mazy, a sweet 9-year-old shorthair cat with sleek black fur, is ready for adoption after enduring severe abuse, the MSPCA announced on Thursday. Rescued from an abusive situation, Mazy arrived at the MSPCA-Angell animal hospital on June 5 with significant injuries, including facial bruising, 10 broken teeth, jaw fractures, and numerous fractured ribs.
Veterinarians suspected animal cruelty due to the nature of her injuries. Following a thorough examination, Mazy’s previous owner surrendered her to the MSPCA on June 10. She underwent surgery to remove her damaged teeth and has made remarkable progress during her healing process.
“Despite the pain from her injuries, Mazy remains affectionate, even attempting to playfully headbutt staff,” said Mike Keiley, Vice President of Animal Protection at MSPCA-Angell. “This illustrates her incredible resilience and loving spirit.”
Mazy is now ready for a new home, welcoming potential adopters at the Boston Adoption Center, open from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday. The MSPCA encourages those interested in supporting Mazy’s care to donate at mspca.org/mazy.
