Title: Massachusetts Man Sentenced to Life for Halloween Stabbing
A Massachusetts man, Jonathan Galindo, 38, has been sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after being convicted of the second-degree murder of 61-year-old Kevin Fitzgerald during a Halloween incident in 2020. Galindo, of Waltham, will be eligible for parole after serving 22 years. He also received an additional 18-year sentence for armed burglary, to be served concurrently.
The tragic altercation occurred shortly after 9 p.m. on October 31, 2020. Fitzgerald called 911, reporting that he had been stabbed. When police arrived at his home, he was found bleeding and alert, identifying Galindo, who was wearing a ninja mask, as his attacker. Fitzgerald ultimately succumbed to his injuries, with a fatal stab wound to the chest.
Investigators connected Galindo to the crime through forensic evidence, including a fingerprint found on the storm door and DNA from the knife used in the attack. Galindo’s phone location data indicated he was at Fitzgerald’s residence during the time of the stabbing. His internet search history revealed concerning queries about stabbings in Waltham shortly after the incident. Galindo’s trial concluded with a guilty verdict on June 2, following a three-week court process.
