House Democrats Seek Access to Epstein’s ‘Birthday Book’

During a recent trip to Glasgow, President Donald Trump dismissed questions related to Jeffrey Epstein, a late sex offender. House Democrats, including Reps. Ro Khanna and Robert Garcia, are seeking to obtain a controversial “birthday book” from Epstein’s estate, which allegedly includes a lewd letter from Trump. The request follows a Wall Street Journal report that claims Trump sent Epstein a birthday letter featuring a crude drawing of a naked woman, accompanied by a signature resembling pubic hair.

The House Oversight Committee has been scrutinizing the Justice Department’s handling of Epstein-related files, criticizing it for inadequately reviewing the documents. Khanna and Garcia emphasize that the birthday book is essential for their investigation into the Epstein case and the Trump Administration’s decision to restrict access to various documents. They have requested an “unredacted copy” of the book by August 10, just before Ghislaine Maxwell, an associate of Epstein, is scheduled to testify.

Garcia stated that the public deserves clarity regarding Epstein’s connections and any individuals involved in his trafficking operations, especially those potentially holding positions of power within the government. In response to the report, Trump has rejected the claims, labeling the letter “FAKE” in a social media post, and has taken legal action against the Wall Street Journal, suing the publication over the story. The developments highlight ongoing concerns about the Epstein scandal and its implications for accountability within the justice system.
