HOUSTON (AP) — The Houston Astros triumphed over the Boston Red Sox with a nail-biting 7-6 victory on Monday night, highlighted by standout performances from Ramón Urías and Chas McCormick.
Urías delivered an impressive offensive display, notching three hits, including a two-run homer, while McCormick celebrated his first homer of the season. The Astros rebounded from a recent series sweep against the Red Sox, showcasing resilience at home.
Starting pitcher Cristian Javier, making a triumphant return from Tommy John surgery, allowed two runs in the first inning but quickly regained his composure, ultimately yielding just one more hit through the following four innings. Carlos Correa, recently traded back to the Astros from the Minnesota Twins, contributed with an RBI single, adding to the night’s excitement.
Boston took an early lead thanks to Alex Bregman’s powerful two-run shot, marking his first appearance in Houston since departing for the Red Sox in the offseason. However, the Astros surged ahead, scoring three runs in the third inning and extending their lead with McCormick’s and Urías’s homers.
