Press Release: Local Couple Opens Raw Talent Boxing and Fitness in Indian Orchard

Indian Orchard, MA – Isaac Reyes, who overcame a troubled childhood filled with gang activity, has transformed his life through boxing, leading him to establish Raw Talent Boxing and Fitness with his wife, Nancy Reyes. The couple officially opened their gym on August 4, welcoming their first young boxers.

Isaac, who found boxing as a pathway to discipline in his tumultuous youth, went on to win the Golden Gloves Championship in 2017 at age 36. After training young fighters in Holyoke and West Springfield, he dreamed of opening his own gym. With the support of a $50,000 small business grant from the city, they were able to renovate a storefront into a fully equipped boxing facility.

The gym will offer classes for children as young as five, and membership fees are set at $75 for kids and $65 for teens and adults. Isaac, who also works as a school bus driver, and Nancy, a first-grade teacher, will manage the gym during evenings.

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno emphasized the importance of grants in supporting local businesses, highlighting their role in fostering community development. Raw Talent Boxing aims not just to train athletes but to instill discipline and academic responsibility in its young members.
