Two students accused of making threats against a Methuen school face charges

Two 14-year-old students from Methuen High School in Methuen, MA, were charged for making bomb threats to schools in the area. The suspects were arrested following the threats made to Donald P. Timony Grammar School and Methuen High School. While the threats were deemed non-credible, the police took them seriously and assured the safety of the community. Both suspects were charged with threatening to use explosives and disrupt school activities. One suspect was arrested and is currently being held with a $10,000 cash bail.

Police Chief Scott McNamara stated that those responsible will face significant legal consequences, and investigations are ongoing. The first threat targeted the Timony Grammar School and was found to be nonspecific after an investigation. The second threat, made to Methuen High School, was more specific and reported to the police by students and parents through social media.

Authorities are looking into the matter, and disciplinary actions will be taken by Methuen Public Schools. Threats of violence are taken seriously, and the department reiterated that they will not be tolerated. The suspects, both students at Methuen High School, face the consequences of their actions under the law and school codes of conduct. The community’s safety remains a top priority for the authorities and school officials in Methuen.
