Boston is experiencing a period of little rainfall, but wet weather is on the way

Boston has experienced a 28-day dry spell, its fifth longest ever. Meteorologists attribute this to a high-pressure system keeping skies clear. Rain is expected to return starting around 3 a.m. Thursday, though the city will only see light showers. Worcester and other parts of the state have had more rain recently, with heavier showers anticipated further south and west. The Bay State’s southeastern tip could see between one and 1.5 inches of rain. Thursday’s forecast includes very light rain across the region, with amounts ranging from 0.1 to 0.25 inches depending on location. The western areas, like the Berkshires, could also see some showers. In the Berkshires, rainfall is expected to be minimal, if any at all. Overall, Thursday’s showers are more likely to be light and scattered. Despite going over four weeks without any rain, Boston can breathe a sigh of relief as precipitation is back on the horizon.
