The Tournament Management Committee is set to discuss a new football proposal at their next meeting. Chairman Jay Costa will present the proposal, designed by Milton coach Steve Dembowski, with hope that the TMC will consider it with an open mind. Committee member Ryan Conway believes Dembowski should be present to answer any questions that may arise.
The cutoff date for the football season is Nov. 2, with records to be finalized the following day for release at 1 p.m. Durfee athletic director Brad Bustin will oversee non-playoff contests for the South, while other sectional leaders will remain the same. Football alignments for 2025 and 2026 have been released, with each of the eight divisions containing 33-35 schools.
Schools have until Oct. 1 to appeal their placement, with no displacement expected if a school successfully moves up or down. A tournament director is being sought following the resignation of Scott Paine in March, with interviews ongoing and an expected replacement to be named in the next week.
