Police in Meredith, New Hampshire, recently saved the life of a 9-month-old baby who overdosed on fentanyl. The baby had ingested the drug at home, prompting the mother to call for help while en route to the hospital. Charlestown Police Chief Patrick Connors noted that the baby was not doing well when they arrived at the hospital. Fortunately, Sgt. Michael Puksta from the nearby town of Claremont administered Narcan, a life-saving medication, to the baby, rescuing them from the overdose.
Chief Connors expressed shock at the incident and stated that criminal charges are being considered as part of the ongoing investigation. The focus is on determining how the baby accessed fentanyl and holding those responsible accountable. The baby was airlifted to a hospital in Lebanon for further treatment after receiving Narcan.
