In recent boys’ soccer action, Arlington Catholic defeated Bishop Stang 2-1, with goals from Esteban Flores and Colin Ramey. St. John’s (S) also secured a 2-0 win over Doherty, with goals from Will Baltas and Daniel Lau. In other games, Archbishop Williams dominated Cristo Rey 6-0, Old Rochester defeated Westport 2-0, and North Andover beat Beverly 1-0.
Norwell bested Mashpee 2-0 in the South Shore League, Rockland defeated Hull 5-0 with James McCrorey scoring a hat trick, and Abington pulled away for a 9-2 victory over Randolph.
On the girls’ soccer front, Norwell secured an 8-0 victory over Mashpee with Ally Kelley recording a goal and two assists. Oliver Ames defeated Canton 1-0 with a goal from Jolie Diaz, and West Bridgewater beat Apponequet 4-1 with Kylie Fuller scoring a hat trick.
In field hockey, Hingham shut out Pembroke 9-0, Canton blanked Taunton 9-0, and Franklin cruised to a 10-0 win over Stoughton. Manchester Essex dominated Hamilton-Wenham 6-0, and Monomoy defeated St. John Paul II 7-0.
In other sports news, East Bridgewater beat Abington 114-112 in boys’ golf, St. Mary’s (Lynn) defeated Bishop Feehan 204-191, and Scituate outlasted Pembroke 238-246. In unified basketball, Natick edged Hopkinton 50-48 in overtime. The West Bridgewater girls’ volleyball team defeated Apponequet 3-0, with Ava Harkins becoming the first player in the team’s history to reach 1,000 career assists.
