Two Worcester men have been identified by authorities after a violent incident that left one man dead from a gunshot wound at a home, and another man taking his own life on a highway. Yubar Perez, 40, was shot and later died at a hospital, while Felix Rivera, 41, shot himself after firing at a state trooper who had approached him as he was acting suspiciously. Rivera then ran onto a highway where he menaced drivers with a gun before eventually shooting himself. Both sides of the highway were closed for several hours as police investigated the incident. Rivera had a warrant for his arrest and had reportedly threatened to kill a woman the night before the shootings. Authorities are still investigating the events and have asked for witnesses to come forward with any cell phone videos that may help shed light on what happened. It is a tragic ending to what appears to be a violent and dangerous series of events that has left the community shaken and in mourning for the lives lost.
