An online claim circulated that JPMorgan Chase CEO, Jamie Dimon, had endorsed Donald Trump for president in the 2024 race. However, this claim was found to be false by JPMorgan Chase spokespersons who stated that Dimon did not endorse any candidate. Trump himself later distanced himself from the post on his Truth Social account, claiming that he had no knowledge of it and suggesting that someone else had posted it.
Dimon had not endorsed a candidate in the 2024 race, though he had previously made positive comments about Trump’s impact on the economy and his stance on NATO and immigration. In the past, Dimon had also encouraged Democrats to consider voting for Nikki Haley in the Republican primary as an alternative to Trump.
This incident is not the first time false claims about endorsements related to Trump have circulated online. Previous debunked claims include assertions that Democratic Senator John Fetterman and former Vice President Mike Pence had endorsed Trump, as well as a claim that Lady Gaga had endorsed Trump in the 2024 race. USA TODAY reached out to Trump’s spokesperson and the user who shared the false claim, but did not receive immediate responses.
