Harris, 59, has an active lifestyle, healthy diet, and well-managed allergies, among other minor health issues that do not impact her ability to serve.
This information was released in a letter from Harris’s physician, Dr. Joshua Simmons, in an effort to contrast her health with that of President Donald Trump, who is 78 years old and has faced scrutiny over his health and transparency. Harris’s campaign hopes to convince undecided voters that she is more fit for office given her youth and mental acuity compared to Trump’s age and tendency to meander.
In contrast to Harris’s transparency, Trump has released very little health information, with his doctor claiming he is in excellent physical and mental health without providing details to support the claim. This lack of transparency has raised concerns, especially after an assassination attempt on Trump where he sustained a minor injury.
Harris’s campaign believes that by highlighting her excellent health and contrasting it with the lack of information from Trump, they can sway undecided voters to support her bid for the presidency.
