Celebrity power couple Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are set to attend Game 1 of the American League Championship Series between the New York Yankees and the Cleveland Guardians. Rumors of their attendance began circulating when Yankees manager Aaron Boone mentioned hearing about their presence before the game. MLB.com’s Bryan Hoch later confirmed their attendance in a report.
The game is scheduled to start at 7:38 p.m. ET/4:38 p.m. PT, with Swift having previous experience performing the national anthem during the MLB postseason in 2008. Kelce, on the other hand, will be taking a break from his football duties with the Kansas City Chiefs, as they are on a bye week before their Week 7 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.
Both the Yankees and the Guardians earned byes after securing the top two seeds in the AL, with New York defeating the Kansas City Royals and Cleveland eliminating the Detroit Tigers to advance to the ALCS. The presence of Swift and Kelce at the game is sure to add an extra touch of star power to the highly anticipated series.
