RFK Jr. Requests Supreme Court to Remove Him from Wisconsin Ballot

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has requested the Supreme Court to remove his name from the presidential ballot in Wisconsin. This comes after he endorsed Donald Trump and ended his independent bid. Kennedy argues that he does not want voters to be confused about his position. However, he has also sought to get on the ballot in New York while trying to get off the ballot in Wisconsin and other swing states. The Supreme Court rejected his New York bid last month.

In Wisconsin, candidates are required to remain on the ballot unless they die, according to a ruling by Dane County Circuit Judge Stephen Ehlke. This decision was upheld by the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Kennedy believes he is being treated unfairly as Wisconsin has different ballot deadlines for independent candidates compared to major party candidates.

Kennedy ended his campaign on August 23 and encouraged his supporters to vote for him in most states, but he wanted to remove his name from battleground states where he could be a spoiler. Wisconsin is considered a swing state where Kennedy has campaigned for Trump openly. His lawyers argue that keeping his name on the ballot in Wisconsin will compromise his message. This situation has unfolded as hundreds of thousands of ballots have already been mailed out in the battleground state, which is one of seven states expected to determine the outcome of the presidential election on November 5th.
