The police are seeking information on employees who were working on the day of Payne’s death as well as in the days leading up to it. The authorities are specifically looking for security camera footage and documents from the hotel’s registration books and computers.
Payne’s father, Geoff Payne, has expressed his desire to investigate and understand what happened to his son. He will remain in Argentina under police custody to assist with the investigation. The singer was found to have had a mixture of drugs in his system at the time of his death, including “pink cocaine.”
