Ann Wilson reveals cancer diagnosis, delays Heart tour – NBC New York

Ann Wilson, the lead singer of the rock band Heart, has announced that she has cancer and the band will be postponing the remaining shows on its Royal Flush Tour while she undergoes treatment. Wilson underwent surgery to remove a cancerous growth and is recovering steadily but has been advised by her doctors to undergo preventive chemotherapy and take time off from performing to fully recover. This means that the rest of the North American tour shows will be postponed to dates in 2025.

All previously purchased tickets for the postponed shows will be honored, and the rescheduled dates will be announced in the coming weeks. Wilson expressed her disappointment at not being able to perform and assured fans that she plans to be back on stage in 2025. The band has not announced whether future performances will include appearances from Def Leppard and Journey.

Heart had previously canceled the European leg of their tour in May due to Wilson having a time-sensitive procedure that required a minimum recovery time of six weeks. The Wilson sisters, who formed Heart in 1973 and have produced hits like “Magic Man,” “Crazy on You,” and “Alone,” were honored with a lifetime achievement award from the Recording Academy in 2023. Wilson has requested that this be the last public statement made on the matter and has assured fans that this postponement is just a pause and she has much more to sing.
