Plane clipped by wings of tow vehicle at Boston Logan Airport

Two separate incidents at Logan Airport on Monday, involved planes being struck by a tug vehicle and two planes clipping wings. In the first incident, a tug vehicle towing an empty JetBlue aircraft struck the rear of a Cape Air plane, causing two pilots to be taken to a hospital as a precaution. No injuries were reported among the three passengers on the Cape Air plane. All three vehicles involved were removed from service for inspection. In a second incident, the wingtips of a Frontier Airlines plane and an American Airlines plane “touched” while at a gate. Passengers had to deplane for inspection. The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the incident. Passengers on the Frontier flight described feeling a bump when the wingtips touched, with one passenger stating it was “terrible” and “very scary.” Similar incidents have occurred at Logan Airport in recent years, involving planes clipping or nearly colliding with one another.
