Jay-Z, also known as Shawn Carter, is facing serious allegations of rape in a recent lawsuit. The lawsuit, filed by an anonymous accuser identified as “Jane Doe,” accuses Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs of raping her in 2000 at a house party after the MTV Video Music Awards. The lawsuit was originally filed in October, with Combs as the sole defendant, but was refiled to include Jay-Z.
The accuser, represented by Texas-based attorney Tony Buzbee, claims that she was drugged and raped by Jay-Z and Combs at the party. Jay-Z has strongly denied the accusations and has filed a lawsuit against the accuser’s attorneys, labeling it as a blackmail attempt.
This lawsuit comes amidst a series of legal issues for Combs, who is currently facing criminal charges of racketeering and sex trafficking and is behind bars in Brooklyn. Prosecutors are considering bringing additional charges against Combs in a superseding indictment.
The accuser is seeking unspecified damages under New York’s Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act. Jay-Z, in a statement, expressed his heartbreak for his family and denied any wrongdoings. The case is ongoing and has sparked public interest and speculation.
